Türkiye's first chip factory, "AB-MikroNano," was founded in a ceremony held at the Bilkent Cyberpark Technopark area on the Bilkent campus. Established through a partnership between ASELSAN and Bilkent University, the factory will develop domestic chips for the defense, space, communications, and energy sectors.

The factory will have the capability to produce nanotransistors, which will enable the manufacturing of chips requiring very high processing power, such as those used in radar systems. These products have been shown to operate at high speeds and high power levels. ASELSAN has conducted field tests of the chips in devices, and a joint production decision has been made. The chips to be produced will also be used in multi-purpose phased-array radars, fire control radars, and electronic warfare devices that ASELSAN plans to produce within two years.
