The İMECE High-Resolution Imaging Satellite is being launched into space.

The high-resolution imaging satellite İMECE is ready for its mission.

TÜBİTAK İMECE

Türkiye is preparing İMECE, a high-resolution imaging satellite produced with national resources, for its mission.

The satellite's design, manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing were carried out by TÜBİTAK researchers and engineers.

The İMECE satellite's critical components, such as the electro-optical camera, electric propulsion system, sun sensor, star trackers, reaction wheel, global positioning system receiver, magnetometer, and magnetic torque rod, were produced domestically. This will enable Turkey to increase its independence and competence in space technologies.

The satellite's high-resolution electro-optical camera, electric propulsion system, sun sensor and star tracker, as well as components like the global positioning system receiver and magnetometer used to monitor the satellite's orbit and position, are vital for ensuring İMECE's high performance and functionality.

İMECE will be launched into orbit by SpaceX on April 11th, and with this domestically produced satellite, Turkey will further strengthen its position in space technologies. Capable of capturing images from anywhere in the world without geographical restrictions, the İMECE satellite has a mission duration of 5 years, weighs 800 kg, and will operate synchronously at an altitude of 680 km.
