TÜBİTAK developed Balistika, one of the best ballistics examination systems in the world. The system allows for the 3D analysis of traces left by bullets and casings, collecting information such as incident, person, and weapon relationships in a single database.
BALİSTIKA 2010 Ballistic Image Analysis and Recognition System is an advanced version of the BALİSTIKA system, previously developed domestically, which was the first in the world to compare shell casings and bullet cores using 3D data.
After its initial version was put into use by the Gendarmerie Criminal Department in 1999, TÜBİTAK UZAY researchers conducted improvement studies on BALİSTİKA in response to requests. From 2005 onwards, through discussions and collaborative work with the General Directorate of Security Criminal Police Laboratories, the system's capabilities were enhanced, making it one of the best ballistic systems in the world.
