Togg Chairman Fuat Tosyalı unveiled the rough prototype of the highly anticipated B-segment electric vehicle T6X for the first time, while making significant statements on a wide range of topics, from production targets to charging infrastructure, export strategy to the transformation vision for the automotive industry. Tosyalı announced that the T6X will begin accepting pre-orders in June 2027, with a price target set at "nearly half of current market prices."
T6X Design Unveiled for the First Time, Ambitious Pricing Target
The rough prototype displayed at the AA Finans Desk provided the first tangible clues about the T6X's design language. The vehicle carries Togg's signature design elements into the B segment, distinguished by a more compact body structure than the T10X and T10F. Tosyalı noted that the design is far from final at this stage, stating: "You are seeing a rough prototype today, because you will appreciate that details are not disclosed at these phases."
On pricing, the target is extremely clear. For the T6X, which had previously been discussed at around TL 1.2 million to 1.3 million, Tosyalı said: "My target, my dream, is to deliver the vehicle to users at nearly half of today's current market prices." Emphasising that this is not a personal goal but a high-level directive, Tosyalı stated: "This is already an instruction from our President. The vehicle will be accessible. Every citizen will be able to reach this vehicle, this brand."
Production Roadmap Targeting Over 200,000 Vehicles Annually
Tosyalı summarised Togg's production strategy as a long-term segment expansion plan. "With the T10X, we rose to leadership in the electric vehicle market. With the T10F, we have consolidated that leadership. With our new models, our production numbers will also increase," said Tosyalı, adding that their target is to first reach an annual production level of 150,000 units, then scale up to an annual production capacity exceeding 200,000 vehicles. To achieve this target, a new segment vehicle will be launched each year.
Trugo Network and Charging Ecosystem
Also speaking on the growth of the Trugo charging station network, Tosyalı emphasised that charging infrastructure plays a leading role in Togg's growth story. "We had an obligation to invest in Trugo. Every vehicle we produce must be matched with a charging station," said Tosyalı, adding that priority investment has been made on routes where vehicles are heavily used.
Addressing Trugo's role in energy costs, Tosyalı stated: "We have supplied energy to our vehicles at lower cost through Trugo, and we continue to do so. Trugo is leading the way in this regard." Noting that nearly 30 brands are currently investing in charging infrastructure in Türkiye, Tosyalı commented: "It's not just our own charging stations; many entrepreneurs have established charging stations and a tremendous ecosystem has been created. We are building Türkiye's largest and most advanced technology ecosystem."
Expansion in Germany and Europe
Togg's international market expansion was also a key topic of the interview. Explaining the strategy behind the German market entry, Tosyalı said: "The density of our citizens in Germany was the primary reason for our preference for Germany." Acknowledging that market conditions in Germany differ from those in Türkiye and that competition is far more intense, Tosyalı stated: "We have now established our own company in Germany. We also have new market targets in Europe." He added that vehicle demand has been received from many countries.
"Togg is One of the Most Important Symbols of Automotive Transformation"
Tosyalı positioned Togg not merely as a vehicle manufacturer but as a symbol of Türkiye's technological transformation. "The automotive industry is undergoing a major transformation. We are one of the most important symbols of this transformation. Togg is one of the most important symbols of the Century of Türkiye," said Tosyalı, emphasising that they view this transformation not simply as building vehicles, but as developing technology, developing software and creating an ecosystem.
"Today, it is not the hardware of vehicles that comes to the fore, but the software, the services they offer and their smart device features," said Tosyalı, adding that they are investing heavily in software development, technology and R&D. Drawing attention to the technology ecosystem in Türkiye, Tosyalı stated: "There is a tremendous technology ecosystem in Türkiye. Many startups are competing to develop and present new products to us."
Accessibility through the Dealership Model
The transformation of Togg's sales model was also addressed in the interview. Noting that the direct central sales model has been successful but that there are users who prefer a more traditional purchasing experience, Tosyalı said: "There is a segment, myself included, who feel a need to sit down, see the vehicle in person and have a face-to-face conversation. That is why we are not just producing vehicles, but also working to develop this ecosystem." The representative dealership model has been introduced to meet this need.
