In an interview with TRT Haber, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır made important statements about the current status and future goals of Togg, Türkiye's pride in the automotive sector. Togg aims to enter the European market with the Togg T10X in the first months of 2025.
Minister Kacır emphasized that Togg is not just a car brand, but also a technology project that is leading the way in major paradigm shifts in Türkiye's automotive and transportation sectors.
According to Minister Kacır, Togg has expanded the electric vehicle market with its entry and is currently the market leader. Togg has been number one in electric vehicle sales since its launch. While the new fastback model (T10F) introduced in America has been very well received, testing continues in Europe and preparations are underway for its entry into the European market.
It is emphasized that being present in important automotive markets, especially in Germany, will strengthen Togg's international standing. The fact that Turkish citizens in Germany are also eagerly awaiting Togg reveals the company's potential in the European market.
With Togg's sales target in the European market, Türkiye's rise in the electric vehicle sector and the increase in domestic production capacity are also gaining importance. In his speech, Minister Kacır emphasized that they aim to be a successful player in the electric vehicle sector by focusing on developments in battery technologies.
In his speech, Minister Kacır stated that, together with Togg, they are also contributing to the widespread adoption of electric vehicle charging stations, especially in residential complexes and apartment buildings. He mentioned that work is continuing to establish this infrastructure with the provision of technical support.
Minister Kacır also provided information about the capacity of Togg's factory in Gemlik, stating that the target is an annual production capacity of 175,000 vehicles and that approximately 15,000 vehicles are currently leaving the factory. Furthermore, Minister Kacır added that the Togg factory will be able to operate at full capacity by increasing sales figures in both the Turkish domestic market and export markets.
