The prototype of the Armed Unmanned Surface Vehicle (AUSV), the first platform in the ULAQ series, has been completed, and it has been launched into the water and sea trials have begun.
Antalya-based ARES Shipyard and Ankara-based Meteksan Defense, both operating in the defense industry with national capital, have realized Turkey's first unmanned combat naval vehicle solution as a result of research and development activities that have been ongoing for several years. The prototype of the Armed Unmanned Naval Vehicle (AUV), the first platform of the "ULAQ" series, has been completed and it was recently launched into the sea and has begun its trial voyages.
With a cruising range of 400 kilometers, a speed of 65 kilometers per hour, day/night vision capabilities, a national encrypted communication infrastructure, and manufactured from advanced composite materials, the SİDA (Side-Controlled Water Vehicle) can be used in the execution of tasks such as Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Intelligence, Surface Warfare (SUH), Asymmetric Warfare, Armed Escort and Force Protection, and Strategic Facility Security, from mobile land-based vehicles, from headquarters command centers, or from floating platforms.
Türkiye's first armed unmanned surface vessel, ULAQ, is equipped with Roketsan's 4-pod system featuring the 2.75″ Laser-Guided Missile CİRİT and its 2-launcher system featuring the Laser-Guided Long-Range Anti-Tank Missile System (L-UMTAS).
