The press conference, held at Otokar's factory in Sakarya, was hosted by Otokar General Manager Serdar Görgüç. Görgüç stated that the Akrep II will be exhibited for the first time at IDEF'19, the 14th International Defence Industry Fair, and that work has been underway for months to present the vehicle in a special configuration. He added: ’When discussing technological advancements, alternative fuels were of course on our agenda. We designed the Akrep II to be compatible with alternative power sources. Equipped with an electric motor and advanced batteries, the Akrep IIe will be exhibited at IDEF 2019 as Türkiye's first electric armored vehicle. Offering advantages such as agility, low thermal signature, high speed, and silence compared to traditional armored vehicles, the Akrep IIe has an electric motor capable of meeting the demanding requirements of armies worldwide.
