The "Insensitive Explosives Production and Filling Facility," established by TÜBİTAK SAGE, was officially opened in Kırıkkale with a ceremony.
The Explosives Production and Filling Facility (DUPAT) is seen as an important step in increasing the domestic content of the Turkish arms industry while developing its own unique weapons.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKEK) Insensitive Explosives Production and Filling Facility (DUPAT), Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Işık stated that they have three main priorities in production: "domestic," "innovative," and "green production," and that this facility meets these priorities.
Pointing out the intense global competition in the defense sector, Işık said, “This sector differs from others in several aspects. It is a pioneering sector capable of developing all other sectors as well. The defense industry is extremely important in every respect. It is a critical sector not only in terms of national defense but also in terms of science.”.
