Celebrations of Attitude, Investment and Turkish Goods Week

What is the Attitude, Investment and Turkish Goods Week celebrated between 12-18 December every year in Turkey?

Turkish Goods, Domestic Goods, 100 Percent Domestic

The Savings, Investment and Turkish Goods Week, celebrated annually in Türkiye between December 12-18, is enlivened by various events held each year.

This week, the event is organized to remind people of the importance of consciously increasing domestic consumption, being thrifty, investing, and protecting the country's wealth.

The "Savings, Investment, and Turkish Goods Week" was decided upon at the İzmir Economic Congress, convened in 1923 under the leadership of Atatürk. This congress aimed to protect the country's independence and promote the production and use of domestic goods. This week was initially celebrated as "Domestic Goods Week" from 1946 onwards, and its name was changed to "Savings, Investment, and Turkish Goods Week" in 1983.

This week, all schools are providing information about attitudes, investments, and Turkish goods; poems are being read, speeches are being given, and skits and plays are being performed. In addition, various activities and materials are being used, such as locally produced branded products, inspirational quotes, certificates of appreciation, name tags, coloring pages, and fruit baskets.

The Savings, Investment and Turkish Goods Week contributes to both students and adults developing the habit of using domestic products, raising awareness of frugality, improving investment skills, and fostering a sense of protecting the country's wealth.
