The Ministry of Trade has published a regulation amendment in the Official Gazette that will make it mandatory for consumers to use visuals prepared by the ministry to facilitate the visual identification of goods produced in Türkiye.
The aim of adding a distinctive logo or mark to domestically produced goods is to make it easier for consumers who are sensitive to using domestic products to choose domestic products when selecting items on the shelves. The new Price Labeling Regulation, published in the Official Gazette, will apply to all products manufactured in Türkiye;
ARTICLE 1 – The following clauses have been added to the second paragraph of Article 5 of the Price Label Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 28/6/2014 and numbered 29044: “d) The date on which the sales price and unit price of the goods are put into effect, e) For goods produced in Turkey, the shape, logo or mark determined and announced by the Ministry.
ARTICLE 2 – In the first paragraph of Article 9 of the same Regulation, the phrases “, tariffs and price lists” have been added after the word “Labels”.
ARTICLE 3 – This Regulation shall enter into force fifteen days after its publication date.
ARTICLE 4 – The Minister of Trade shall execute the provisions of this Regulation. Source: New logo requirement for domestic production.
