Arçelik has been honoured with the Award of Merit in the "Sustainable Product Innovation and Eco-Design" category at the Sustainable Business Awards 2026 for its project "Next-Generation Dishwasher Transformation through Circular Design and Sustainable Material Innovation." In a post from the company's social media account, it was stated that the award recognises continuity in innovation.

Four Critical Plastic Components Redesigned

Arçelik reworked four critical plastic components of the dishwasher from the ground up using a circular design and sustainable material approach. While increasing the use of recycled plastic, the company also optimised its product designs and production processes according to this new material structure. The four new recycled plastic formulations developed were put into serial production following laboratory tests, process validations and performance checks on the product. Recycled materials have thus been brought to a level that meets the standard requirements of white goods production.

Contribution to Circular Transformation

In its post, Arçelik stated: "We continue to contribute to circular transformation with our work extending from material to design, and from production to product." The company's project stands out as an exemplary effort in terms of promoting the use of recycled materials in the white goods sector. The ability of recycled plastics to meet critical requirements such as durability, heat resistance and food safety, and to be used in white goods applications, stands out as a significant achievement in materials engineering.
