Bayraktar TB3 Successfully Completes First Run Test.

Baykar Bayraktar TB3 unmanned aerial vehicle successfully completed its first runway test.

The Baykar Bayraktar TB3 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), planned to be deployed on Türkiye's first aircraft carrier TCG Anadolu, successfully completed its first runway test.

Selçuk Bayraktar, Head of Technology at Baykar Technology, shared footage of the TB3's first runway test on social media. The Bayraktar TB3 is an armed UAV system capable of taking off and landing from aircraft carriers with short runways, featuring foldable wings and a payload capacity of 280 kilograms. Developed as a naval version of the Bayraktar TB2, the TB3 is powered by the PD170 engine manufactured by TEI.

The TB3 is expected to make its first flight this year. The TB3 can be equipped with various smart munitions such as L-UMTAS, MAM-C, MAM-L, MAM-T, Cirit, BOZOK, TOGAN, and KUZGUN. The TB3 will be deployed on Türkiye's flagship, TCG ANADOLU, and will make a significant contribution to the Turkish Armed Forces' naval operations.

Baykar Technology's Chief Technology Officer, Selçuk Bayraktar, had announced the use of Kemankeş on the TB3, stating that the TB3 could launch Kemankeş and that Kemankeş could communicate with the TB3. Kemankeş is a winged, orbiting munition system developed by Baykar Technology. It was introduced as a mini intelligent cruise missile that can be used against strategic targets. Kemankeş is a munition capable of autonomous flight with an AI-powered autopilot system and can identify its target with an AI-powered optical guidance system. The TB3 will be able to attack enemy targets with both smart munitions developed by Roketsan and Kemankeş.
