The era of "domestic production" is officially beginning in meeting the Turkish Armed Forces' (TSK) service weapon needs. The Undersecretariat of Defense Industry (SSM) is negotiating with Sarsılmaz A.Ş., a domestic pistol manufacturer that successfully passed rigorous testing processes. With the signed contract, 8,600 units of the legendary "Kılınç 2000 MEGA" model will be added to the army's inventory.
The strategy to reduce dependence on foreign sources in the defense industry is now being extended to service pistols, following its success with infantry rifles. For the first time, the Undersecretariat of Defense Industry is selecting a domestic manufacturer as the main contractor for the supply of high-performance pistols to meet the operational needs of Turkish Armed Forces personnel. In this context, the Kılınç 2000 MEGA model, produced at Sarsılmaz's facilities in Düzce and known for its durability, is being chosen.

The Undersecretariat is focusing not only on being domestically produced but also on "superior performance" in the selection process. The Kılınç 2000 MEGA successfully passes rigorous environmental tests, including mud, sand, low and high temperatures, as well as barrel life and shooting accuracy tests.
Featuring a steel frame and ergonomic design, this model is being designed to be the soldier's most reliable companion in the field.
Domestic Transformation Starting with 8,600 Units
The supply contract signed between the parties, in the first instance 8,600 units It covers the pistol. However, the agreement is structured in a flexible way that allows for additional production in the future in line with the changing and increasing needs of the Turkish Armed Forces.
