Outdoor UFO heaters with an IP 34 rating have the logo on the box, the product itself, and the barcode label. UFO heaters without the IP 34 logo do not have the IP rating, meaning they are not suitable for outdoor use.
What is an IP (Ingress Protection) Code?
The IP (Ingress Protection) code is a coding system defined to indicate the degree of protection provided by an enclosure against access to hazardous parts, the ingress of foreign solids, and water ingress, and to provide additional information regarding such protection. The protection class number IP is expressed as a two-digit number (IP XY). The first digit (X) indicates protection against large particles (and of course, people), and the second digit (Y) indicates protection against liquids. In general, the larger the number, the higher the level of protection.
