A significant development has occurred in the legal process surrounding Otokar's 4x4 Tactical Wheeled Light Armoured Vehicle tender in Romania. According to the company's statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Romanian courts have ruled in Otokar's favour, rejecting the appeal lodged by C.N. Romtehnica S.A. With this decision, the stay of execution on the payment demand of approximately 230.2 million Romanian Lei (approximately $46 million) until the conclusion of the legal proceedings has been finalised.

Timeline of the Legal Process

According to Otokar's previous statements to the KAP, Romanian courts had ruled on 16 March 2026 to consolidate and hear the company's cancellation cases against C.N. Romtehnica S.A.'s payment demands, ordering a stay of execution on the payment demand of 230,217,479 Romanian Lei – subject to the counterparty's right to appeal – until the proceedings were finally concluded. Following the counterparty's exercise of its right to appeal, the case was referred to a higher court. As a result of the appellate review, the relevant court ruled in Otokar's favour, dismissing Romtehnica's appeal.

This legal process has been one of the most serious legal hurdles faced by Otokar's Romanian operations, which have expanded significantly through the company's 1,059-vehicle tender win and the €85 million acquisition of the Automecanica factory. The company has delivered more than 270 COBRA II vehicles to date in Romania and has commenced local production at its factory in Mediaș.
