The Turkish defence industry is deploying a brand new autonomous power that will change the asymmetric warfare concept. Baykar, a global leader in unmanned aerial vehicles, has shared the autonomous flight footage of its new systems. The company announced the K2 Kamikaze UAV and SİVRİSİNEK Smart Loitering Munition platforms via its official social media accounts. Baykar will publicly unveil all technical details of these strategic systems for the first time on May 5-9, 2026. The SAHA EXPO 2026 event, to be held at the Istanbul Expo Centre, will host this historic introduction.
Intelligence and Destructive Power Combined
Baykar engineers have taken the SİVRİSİNEK and K2 platforms far beyond being mere munitions. These systems operate with autonomous swarm logic in the air thanks to their advanced algorithms. Platforms with swarm intelligence constantly communicate with each other during flight. Furthermore, the vehicles instantly share the target data they detect with other munitions in an encrypted manner.
As its name suggests, SİVRİSİNEK (Mosquito) presents a compact profile with an extremely low radar cross-section (RCS). Such smart loitering munitions, after reaching the target area, loiter in the air for hours waiting for opportunity targets. When a target is detected, the systems descend with the optimal dive angle and perform a kamikaze attack within seconds. The system's ability to make autonomous decisions without requiring human intervention maximises the success rate of the operation.
Strategic Surprise Ahead of SAHA EXPO 2026
Modern warfare history, especially in recent years, is undergoing a radical technological change. Million-dollar heavy air defence batteries are often helpless against low-cost kamikaze UAV swarms. Baykar has so far proven its global mettle with large strategic platforms such as the Bayraktar TB2, AKINCI, and KIZILELMA. However, with the SİVRİSİNEK and K2 systems, the company is also making a direct and devastating intervention in the tactical field and asymmetric warfare doctrine.
Furthermore, the SAHA EXPO 2026 fair provides a perfect ground for these new technologies to be showcased internationally. Throughout the fair, Baykar will share critical data on these innovative systems, such as range, warhead weight, and operational flight altitude, with the sector in detail.
The Network that Collapses Enemy Defence
The SİVRİSİNEK and K2 kamikaze UAV systems elevate the deep strike capability of the Turkish Armed Forces to a brand new and flexible level. Dozens of autonomous munitions launched from a single centre will rapidly saturate enemy radars with data. Thus, air defence systems will face a significant vulnerability in protecting the main strategic targets. Ultimately, this autonomous swarm technology developed by Baykar not only destroys the enemy on the battlefield. The company is completely rewriting the future asymmetric warfare doctrines from Türkiye's centre.
