The national intelligence satellite GÖKTÜRK will be launched into space in 2012.

Prime Minister Erdoğan announced that GÖKTÜRK, the first intelligence satellite built by Turkish engineers, will be launched into space in 2012.

Erdoğan stated that Türkiye has begun the production of entirely domestically manufactured tanks, unmanned aerial vehicles, and helicopters, adding, "I have very important news to share; the work on our intelligence satellite, which we have named GÖKTÜRK and which is being built by Turkish engineers, is continuing. God willing, we will launch it into space in 2012.".
