Işık answered journalists' questions at the 12th meeting of the Turkish Design Advisory Council held at the Ministry. When a journalist asked about the progress on the domestic automobile project, Işık said, "Three prototypes are currently ready at TÜBİTAK, and testing began yesterday.".
Işık, who stated that he was at the Marmara Research Center (MAM) in the TÜBİTAK Gebze campus yesterday, noted the following:
“I personally saw and even tested the vehicles. Now, the advancements made by TÜBİTAK (the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) will be applied to these vehicles. TÜBİTAK's accumulated knowledge in the automotive field will be applied to these vehicles. Work will continue to develop these prototypes in every area, aiming to offer them to users in our country and around the world, hopefully before 2020, under the best, most suitable, and most economical conditions possible. Currently, three out of four prototypes are ready, and testing has begun. Hopefully, we can share some photos with you in the coming days.’
Işık stated that the efforts to launch a Turkish brand onto the world stage with new technology before 2020 are progressing according to schedule with great determination and speed.
Stating that some changes have been made to the fourth prototype, Işık said, “Especially regarding the technology we desire, some work is being carried out to ensure it arrives in our hands. I think it will arrive within one or two months.”.
