Eczacıbaşı Holding announced that it has acquired the 50% stake in İpek Kağıt, one of its subsidiaries that contributes most to its turnover, from Georgia-Pacific, thus bringing the entire company under the ownership of the Eczacıbaşı Group.

Speaking at a press conference organized by İpek Kağıt, Hakan Uyanık, President of Eczacıbaşı Consumer Group, stated that they wanted to further enhance the potential of İpek Kağıt and its brands by making breakthroughs in new products and new geographies, adding, “Therefore, we had started working to acquire full ownership of İpek Kağıt. When our foreign partner, Georgia-Pacific, made a strategic decision to exit the entire European market, the Eczacıbaşı Group seized this opportunity and acquired Georgia-Pacific's shares. On February 14, 2012, all procedures were completed, and İpek Kağıt became a 100% Eczacıbaşı company again.”.
