Eczacıbaşı Building Materials, Türkiye's leading exporter of ceramic sanitary ware, celebrated the opening of its new facilities in Bozüyük, Bilecik on October 18, 2023.

Celebrating its 65th year in ceramic production, the company has also established a separate facility for concealed cisterns. Sustainability and gender equality are priority goals in these investments, which, once completed, will reach €76.5 million.

Eczacıbaşı VitrA's new ceramic sanitary ware production facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, utilizing robotic automation in all processes from raw materials to the final product. In addition to making significant contributions to production, employment, and exports, the facilities also serve as a model for the sector in terms of technology and sustainability. The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Bilecik Governor Şefik Aygöl, Bozüyük Mayor Mehmet Talat Bakkalcıoğlu, Eczacıbaşı Holding Chairman Bülent Eczacıbaşı, Eczacıbaşı Holding Board Member Emre Eczacıbaşı, Eczacıbaşı Group CEO Atalay Gümrah, Eczacıbaşı Building Materials CEO Özgen Özkan, Eczacıbaşı Group employees, and invited guests.

The fifth ceramic sanitary ware plant and the new concealed cistern production facility, both implemented at the VitrA Production Campus in Bozüyük, will reach a total investment of €76.5 million upon completion of all phases. With these two new investments, Eczacıbaşı Building Materials aims to meet increasing demand, create the necessary capacity to grow the market, increase efficiency, and make greater use of renewable energy sources. One of the most important features of these new investments is their contribution to gender equality by increasing female employment. Thanks to ergonomically designed workbenches and automation throughout the factory, designed to encourage greater female employment in the production sector, there will be more female employees on site. While achieving full equality in employment with a 50% female, 50% male ratio, this goal will also be supported by a literacy campaign for women organized in cooperation with the Bilecik Governorship and the Bozüyük National Education Directorate.
