Capable of taking off from and landing on aircraft and helicopter carriers, the Bayraktar TB3 stands out as a significant milestone in Türkiye's defense industry.
The Bayraktar TB3 is an unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Baykar and planned to be deployed on the TCG Anadolu, Türkiye's first amphibious assault ship. The aircraft features a design with foldable wings, allowing it to land on the ship's deck. It will also be capable of conducting attack operations with various smart munitions.
The Bayraktar TB3 made its first flight on October 20, 2023. The aircraft successfully completed takeoff and landing tests. The Bayraktar TB3 emerged as a result of Türkiye's idea to modify the TCG Anadolu to accommodate unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) since it could not acquire F-35B fighter jets.
The Bayraktar TB3 is an improved version of the Bayraktar TB2. The Bayraktar TB3 is powered by the TEI-produced PD170 engine.
