SİPER-1, which forms the uppermost layer of Türkiye's layered air defence architecture ÇELİKKUBBE and is the longest-range air defence system in the Turkish Armed Forces inventory, successfully destroyed its target in a critical test firing conducted at the Sinop Firing Range.

The firing test activity, closely followed by the pinnacle of the state and the military command echelon, was attended by Chief of the General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Air Force Commander General Rafet Dalkıran and Defence Industry Agency President Professor Dr. Haluk Görgün, who observed the system's operational performance on site.

"A Direct Hit from SİPER, ÇELİKKUBBE's Uppermost-Layer Power"

Making statements following the test firing of the system, developed through the strategic cooperation of ASELSAN and ROKETSAN, ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol underscored the success achieved. Akyol used the words: "A direct hit from SİPER, ÇELİKKUBBE's uppermost-layer power. We will continue to knit ÇELİKKUBBE stitch by stitch, working day and night for all layers of our airspace," and thanked all stakeholders who contributed to the project.

SİPER undertakes the long-range area air and missile defence mission in the uppermost layer of ÇELİKKUBBE, referred to as Türkiye's air defence umbrella. It had recently been made public that SİPER-2 had reached Full Operational Capability and struck the highly manoeuvrable Süper Şimşek target. SİPER-1's latest successful firing at Sinop has once again confirmed the system's operational reliability and its strike power in the inventory.
