The Turkish defense industry is making a significant mark on the international stage with a project to produce three state-of-the-art corvettes for the Royal Malaysian Navy. The LMS Batch II Project, with STM Defense Technologies as the main contractor, is scheduled for completion in 2027.

Equipped with domestically produced systems, these modern ships once again showcase Türkiye's export ambitions in the defense industry.

High Performance and Stealth Design

Measuring 99.56 meters in length and with a displacement of 2,500 tons, these corvettes are designed to reach a maximum speed of 26 knots and conduct long-distance operations up to 4,000 nautical miles at a speed of 14 knots. Their stealth design and low radar signature allow them to remain undetected by enemy systems, and their helicopter platform will play a critical role in air-supported operations.

These corvettes belong to Türkiye. MILGEM (National Ship) The ships are designed based on the Ada-class corvettes developed within the scope of the project. Adapted to the specific requirements of the Malaysian Navy, the ships stand out with their modern technological infrastructure.

Strategic Resilience and Operational Flexibility

The corvettes, notable for their 111-person crew capacity and four diesel-powered propulsion systems, will make a significant contribution to Malaysia's maritime security with their durability and ability to defend against multiple threats. The ship provides effective protection against multiple threats with its 76 mm cannon and 2x2 SAM (Surface-to-Air Missile) missiles.

Regional and Global Defense Initiative

This project adds to STM Defense's previous successful projects in Pakistan and Ukraine, while reinforcing Türkiye's leading position in defense industry exports. This cooperation with Malaysia will provide Türkiye with strategic benefits not only in economic and defense terms, but also diplomatically.
