The national multi-layered air defense system is being joined by a surprise new force, SUNGUR, whose tests have been successfully completed.
Ismail Demir, the head of the Defense Industry, announced SUNGUR, a portable air defense system that has joined the air defense system as a new force, in a post on his social media account.
With its mobile firing capability, suitability for day and night use, identification, target tracking, and 360-degree firing capability, SUNGUR is a system ahead of its class, offering effectiveness against air targets, high maneuverability, high target accuracy, and countermeasure capabilities, as well as a titanium warhead and a sighting system that allows the target to be viewed from a long range.
