The first live-fire test of Siper, a long-range air defense system that is one of Türkiye's most important defense projects, has been successfully completed.
A social media post by the Head of the Defense Industry, İsmail Demir, included images from the first live-fire tests of the Siper Long-Range Air Defense System.
The shared images show that the missile used in the Siper air defense system is very similar to the Bozdoğan air-to-air missile system, which was recently test-fired from an F-16. Based on all this evidence, we anticipate that the missiles forming the backbone of the Siper Long-Range Air Defense system may be a ground-launched version of the Bozdoğan air-to-air missiles.

Developed within the scope of Regional Air Defense, Siper will enable long-range and distributed air defense of strategic facilities against enemy attacks. The project is being carried out in partnership with ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, and TÜBİTAK SAGE.
