The Target for Domestic Automobile Production is Electric Hybrid Vehicles.

Türkiye's goal in creating a domestic automotive brand has been defined as electric hybrid vehicles.

Discussions are ongoing between the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and manufacturers regarding the creation of domestic automotive brands. The first domestically produced electric hybrid vehicles are expected to be launched by 2020, and the ministry has accelerated its efforts in this area.

Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Fikri Işık made statements regarding domestic automobile production efforts. He mentioned that Türkiye is in a good position in automotive R&D, stating that there are currently 56 automotive R&D centers. Future plans include establishing an automotive center of excellence within TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey), with a focus on design and engineering.
