The Turkish automotive industry has signed a major global partnership to bring the electric vehicle ecosystem to much wider audiences. Türkiye's mobility brand, Togg, has made a strategic platform agreement with CAIT (Contemporary Amperex Intelligent Technology), a subsidiary of the world's largest battery manufacturer, China's CATL, for its new product family to be produced in the B segment. Within the scope of this historic agreement, Togg will use CAIT's "Bedrock Chassis" technology for three new B-segment models to be gradually launched from 2027 onwards. This cooperation also holds global significance as it marks the first international passenger car project outside of China to utilise the high-tech Bedrock Chassis infrastructure. Togg is making a strategic move by adapting the world's most advanced smart chassis technology to the European market and directing this infrastructure with its own engineering intelligence.

The Signing Ceremony of Global Giants and Strategic Vision

This technological marriage between the two giant companies was formalised with a historic ceremony attended by top-level executives. The agreement was signed by Togg CEO Gürcan Karakaş, CATL Customer Relations Officer Libin Tan, and CAIT CEO Hanbing Yang. The process was personally witnessed by Togg Chairman of the Board Fuat Tosyalı and CATL Chairman of the Board Robin Zeng.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Togg Chairman Fuat Tosyalı made it very clear that this move was not just a simple purchase of parts. Tosyalı stated that they view mobility not merely as a product category, but as a holistic technology and ecosystem issue. In this regard, the company is taking its relationships far beyond the traditional supplier model. Tosyalı emphasized the decisive role of Turkish engineers in the project, saying, "Instead of buying a ready-made solution, we are becoming an active part of the entire development process." CATL Chairman Robin Zeng described this partnership as a historic milestone in the global expansion of Bedrock Chassis technology and a reference project in the field of integrated intelligent chassis.

Bedrock Chassis: Battery-Centric Integrated Architecture

The Bedrock Chassis, also known as the Skateboard Chassis in the automotive world, completely redefines electric vehicle production. This system is shaped around a battery-centric architecture. The battery pack, electric drive motors, thermal management systems, and chassis domain control unit, which are separate components in standard cars, are combined into a single integrated platform in this technology.

This integration allows the chassis to flawlessly control both the vehicle's movement and energy management from a single point. The system essentially transforms into a rolling mobile energy carrier. In this collaboration, CAIT provides the physical chassis technology and engineering expertise. Togg engineers design the vehicles' top body, product requirements, digital architecture, and user experience (UX). This provides users with a massive interior space and superior range performance in a compact vehicle class like the B segment.

The "1+1+1" Localisation Model and the European Market

CATL's Bedrock Chassis technology is being opened to global markets with a special localisation model called "1+1+1". The formula for this model is quite simple: One common chassis technology platform, one industrial supply chain network, and the operational power of a local automotive brand come together.

This partnership with Togg is the first major project where this model is being implemented in Türkiye and Europe. Thus, electric vehicles can be shaped according to the regional preferences of local consumers while using a common technological base. Every detail of the new B-segment vehicles, from their digital screens to their driving dynamics, is specifically configured by Togg according to the expectations of Turkish and European users.

Countdown to Mass Production for Togg in the B Segment

This partnership established between Togg and CAIT (CATL) initiates a brand new and much larger-volume era in Türkiye's electric vehicle vision. Having become the dominant force in the market with its T10X and T10F models in the C segment, the company is now moving down to the accessible B segment, which will appeal to younger and more budget-conscious audiences.

According to the official announcement, the first model to be built on the co-developed Bedrock Chassis is targeted to enter mass production in 2027. In the future, a total of three different models (B-SUV, B-Hatchback, etc.) using this infrastructure will hit the roads.
