In the increasingly popular global electric car market, the first domestically produced electric car will be on Turkish roads in 2012.

The car, which can travel over 300 kilometers on a 7-hour charge, can reach speeds exceeding 100 kilometers per hour.

Erdem Ufacık, the coordinator of Ankara-based Oscar company, stated that their company was founded in 1974 and has been producing construction tools until today, adding, "With the recent economic crisis, our company has turned to R&D and decided to produce electric cars.".
