ROKETSAN has announced that its new solution developed against kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles has passed a critical threshold. The CİRİT ANTI-UAV missile scored a direct hit on an aerial target during a test firing conducted from the PUSU weapon system. Footage shared on the company's social media accounts showed that the launch from the mobile platform was successfully completed.

CİRİT's New Mission

The laser-guided CİRİT missile, which has been used primarily against ground targets until now, has proven its effectiveness against aerial targets with this test. Described by ROKETSAN as a "Mobile Shield Against Modern Threats," the CİRİT ANTI-UAV configuration promises a low-cost, high-precision counter-UAV solution.

This development heralds a system capable of mobilising and reacting quickly against the increasingly prevalent commercial and tactical UAV threat on the battlefield. Thanks to the mobile structure of the PUSU platform, the system can also be used in areas beyond the reach of the conventional air defence umbrella.

Mobile Integration with the PUSU System

Developed in partnership with ASELSAN and ROKETSAN, PUSU is a remotely controlled weapon system capable of firing different munitions thanks to its modular structure. Integrating the CİRİT ANTI-UAV onto this platform provides the system with both mobility and rapid engagement capability.

In a statement on its social media accounts, ROKETSAN said: "We are integrating our smart munitions with mobile platforms and continue to produce solutions against all kinds of threats." This approach also reflects the company's strategy of offering integrated system solutions, not just munitions.

Why Is It Important?

The asymmetric impact of low-cost UAVs has been clearly seen in many conflict zones, from Ukraine to the Middle East. Using million-dollar air defence missiles against this threat is neither cost-effective nor sustainable in terms of inventory management.

CİRİT ANTI-UAV responds to this equation by adapting an existing, proven munition to a new mission profile. Thanks to its laser guidance precision, it offers pinpoint strike capability, particularly against rotary-wing and fixed-wing tactical UAVs.

Domestic Layered Defence in the Sky Homeland

The statement by ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci, "We are strengthening the deterrence of our domestic systems at every altitude of the Sky Homeland," indicates that domestic solutions within Türkiye's layered air defence architecture are expanding. Mobile solutions like CİRİT ANTI-UAV are being added to the umbrella formed by systems such as KORKUT, HİSAR, SİPER, and GÖKDEMİR.
