Vestel has confirmed it is in talks with Toshiba to acquire its TV manufacturing unit. The company made a statement regarding the talks to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).

In response to news reports published by various news agencies on April 9, 2017, originating from the Japanese Nikkei newspaper; as part of our company's strategy to further strengthen its position in international markets and increase branded sales through licensing and/or acquiring global brands, negotiations have commenced regarding the acquisition of Toshiba Corporation's TV unit (Toshiba Visual Solutions Corporation). However, since it remains uncertain whether final negotiations will proceed, and in accordance with Article 6 of the Capital Markets Board's Communiqué on Special Circumstances, public disclosure has been postponed until a binding agreement is concluded between the parties.
Toshiba Visual Solutions Corporation ile %100 bağlı ortaklığımız olan Vestel Ticaret AŞ (“Vestel Ticaret”) arasında 1 Eylül 2016 tarihinde imzalanan marka lisans anlaşması kapsamında 5 yıl süreyle geçerli olmak üzere Avrupa pazarı için Toshiba markası lisansı altında televizyon üretimi, satışı, pazarlaması ve dağıtım hakları Vestel Ticaret’e aittir.
