The green light has been given for domestic chip production.

The foundation of the project, which will produce the country's first gallium nitride-based chips, was laid through a partnership between ASELSAN and Bilkent University.

Bilim, Sanayi ve Teknoloji Bakanı Fikri Işık, “Yerli çip üretimi konusunda kararlıyız, bu konudaki çalışmaları başlattık” dedi.

ASELSAN ve Bilkent Üniversitesi ortaklığında temeli atılan, ülkenin ilk galyum nitrat temelli çip üretimi yapacak fabrikasından sonra Bilim, Sanayi ve Teknoloji Bakanlığı önderliğinde Türkiye’nin ilk büyük ölçekli seri üretim kapasitesine sahip silisyum temelli çip fabrikası için çalışmalar başladı.
