A day before the T625's first flight, TEI's domestically developed helicopter engine, designed specifically for this helicopter, was tested in a stable regime.
In the project coordinated by the Presidency of Defense Industry and carried out by TUSAŞ Engine Industry Inc. (TEI) to meet the engine needs of Türkiye's indigenous helicopter, which successfully completed its first flight, another important milestone has been successfully achieved.
The Turbojet Engine Development Project has completed 1.5 years of its 8-year timeline. TEI aims to reach the project's target of 5.5 years in just 4 years, in line with the promise made to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The goal is for the T625 helicopter to make its first flight with a domestically produced engine in the first half of 2021. Work on the project has been accelerated to achieve this goal.
