The Modern Infantry Rifle Project Series Production Contract was signed between the Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) and the Undersecretariat of Defence Industry on July 2, 2015.
The contract stipulates that 20,000 MPT-76 rifles will be produced in the first phase and delivered to the Land Forces Command, Naval Forces Command, and Gendarmerie General Command units. Following the completion of the first phase of deliveries, project activities will continue until all the needs of our armed forces are met.
The Modern Infantry Rifle Project Series Production Contract is an important step towards meeting the needs of our armed forces with national resources. The MPT-76, whose design and development were completed entirely with national resources and which has been qualified under challenging conditions, aims to meet the light weapon needs of all friendly and allied countries, primarily our armed forces, during its series production phase.
