Test firings of the National Low-Altitude Air Defense Missile, Hisar-A, including the Controlled Test Missile-1 (KTF-1) with autopilot control and the Ballistic Test Missile-2 (BTF-2) with a dual-pulse engine – a first for Türkiye – were successfully conducted by Roketsan in Aksaray between June 19-24, 2015, with the participation of the Land Forces Command, the Undersecretariat of Defense Industry, and Aselsan.
In the completed tests, the HİSAR-A missiles successfully separated from the launch platform using the first booster engine, then fired the second booster engine in mid-air, and flew under the control of their in-house missile autopilot, performing the programmed maneuvers.
Within the scope of the HİSAR projects, which are being carried out to provide our country with air defense missile systems that will meet the low and medium altitude air defense needs of the Turkish Armed Forces and compete with their counterparts in the world, the radar, command and control and fire control systems are being developed by Aselsan, and the missile systems are being developed by Roketsan.
