Within the scope of the Ground-Based Remote Electronic Support/Electronic Attack (Ground SOJ) Contract signed between ASELSAN and the Undersecretariat of Defense Industry, the KORAL Mobile Electronic Warfare System, uniquely developed by ASELSAN, was delivered to the Air Force Command.
The KORAL Mobile Electronic Warfare System consists of an Electronic Support System (KORAL ED) and an Electronic Attack System (KORAL ET) integrated into military tactical vehicles and operating across a wide frequency band.
While the KORAL ED System performs detection, identification, and direction-finding functions for radar emissions, the KORAL ET System enables the jamming and deception of target radars, rendering them inoperable. With these capabilities, the KORAL System has the potential to create a significant vulnerability in the air defense systems of target countries.
The intensive system verification and testing process carried out since 2013, and the positive results obtained from electronic attack tests applied to modern and complex radar systems in the final stage of the system testing process, are increasing confidence in the system.
The active electronically scanned units used in the system, considered a future defense technology, enable effective electronic attacks against multiple targets simultaneously. The technological expertise gained in this project regarding active electronically scanned units can also be used in many other radar and electronic warfare systems. This technology, which exists in only a few countries worldwide, is of great importance in demonstrating the level our country has reached in the electronic warfare sector.
