ASELSAN has signed a sales contract worth a total of $125 million for the export of weapons and electronic warfare systems to an end-user abroad. In a statement from the company's official social media account, no information was shared regarding the contract's details.

Scope of the Contract

The contract covers weapons and electronic warfare systems. Electronic warfare systems are among the critical components of the modern battlefield, with their capabilities to detect, jam and deceive enemy radar and communications systems. ASELSAN, with the systems it has developed in this field, is present in the inventories of the Turkish Armed Forces as well as numerous friendly and allied nations.

The company did not disclose which country the contract is intended for, nor the delivery schedule. In defence industry export contracts, information on the customer country may be kept confidential in line with the parties' agreement.

ASELSAN's Export Performance

This contract adds another link to ASELSAN's recent export successes. The company had strengthened its position in the international market through the agreements signed within the scope of the NATO Defence Industry Forum, in which ASELSAN took part as a contractor across five critical areas. In addition, its collaboration with Türk Telekom in the field of domestic smartphones and communications devices is also expanding ASELSAN's presence in the civilian technology market.

Türkiye's defence and aerospace exports reached $634 million in September, a 10.7 per cent increase compared to the same month last year. Exports over the last 12 months amounted to $10.941 billion, a 30 per cent increase.
