Key Decisions from the Defense Industry Executive Committee

The Defence Industry Executive Committee met at the Presidential Palace under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The Defence Industry Executive Committee convened at the Presidential Palace under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The meeting reviewed the current level of the Turkish defence industry, future goals, and critical projects.

At the meeting, decisions were made regarding military ship projects, including the aircraft carrier design phase, the construction of MİLGEM 9-10-11-12 ships (I-class frigates), offshore patrol vessels, new type landing craft, a new generation minehunting vessel, and a national attack boat. Additionally, projects aimed at adding new UAVs/UASs to the existing inventory, acquiring new capabilities, and ensuring logistical support were also discussed and finalized.

The meeting also discussed and decided on the future activities of the National Combat Aircraft KAAN, the procurement of HÜRKUŞ aircraft and GÖKBEY helicopters, and the logistical requirements of Airborne Early Warning and Control Aircraft. In addition to platform projects, decisions were also made for numerous projects across a wide range of areas, including new missile, radar, electronic warfare, communication, various weapons, ammunition and equipment, air defense systems, and satellite and space systems.

Savunma sanayisi, geçtiğimiz yıla göre %27’lik bir artışla 5.5 milyar dolarlık rekor bir seviye ve kilogram başına ortalama 65 doları aşan ihracat rakamı ile Türkiye ekonomisine ve dolaylı olarak toplumsal refaha yüksek bir katkı sağladı. Ayrıca, ülkemiz savunma sanayii ürünlerine duyulan güven artışının bir göstergesi olarak önceki yıl ihracat yapılan ülke sayısı 176 iken bu yıl itibarıyla 185’in üzerine çıktı.

In the "Turkish Century," the critical steps to be taken for a fully independent defense industry were emphasized once again, and it was stated that, as in the past, activities will continue with determination and resolve using domestic and national technologies.
