To commemorate the 86th anniversary of the Battle of Sakarya, an official parade was held in Polatlı Cumhuriyet Square, where the first Turkish missile, the Yıldırım Missile, was also displayed.

The ceremony was attended by District Governor Hüseyin Eker, Commander of the Artillery and Missile School Major General Erkal Bektaş, Mayor Yakup Çelik, officers and non-commissioned officers serving in the garrison, and citizens. Students representing Kayseri High School, which could not graduate any students that year because all of its senior students were martyred during the War of Independence, also participated in the ceremony. Following this, the Mehteran Band, a cavalry unit, and a historical military unit from the General Staff Military History and Strategic Studies Department paraded.

Motorized military units, including Panther howitzers and Yıldırım missiles, greeted the citizens. The celebrations will continue with an event to be held in Duatepe in the afternoon.
