Teams participating in the Solar Car Race (Formula-G), organized by TÜBİTAK, took to the track at the Ankara Atatürk Cultural Center for qualifying and free practice.

The drivers participating in Formula-G, organized for the third time by Science and Technology Magazine, received a briefing from Meriç Demiralp, President of the Ankara Automobile Sports Club Center. Following the briefing, the drivers took part in a 10-minute qualifying lap on the track at AKM with their solar-powered vehicles to determine their positions in the semi-finals and finals. The teams participating in the Hydromobile races will take part in the qualifying lap after their practice sessions tomorrow.

This year's races will feature 39 teams representing 32 universities with over 40 solar-powered cars they designed and developed themselves, and 20 teams from 15 universities with 20 hydrogen-powered cars, also designed by the teams themselves. The increase in the number of female drivers participating in the races was also noteworthy. The vehicles participating in the Formula-G and Hydromobil races, which underwent registration, administrative and technical checks yesterday, also participated in 10-minute qualifying rounds today.

Tomorrow, cars in both categories will continue their free practice sessions on the track. Cars participating in the Hydromobil category will take part in qualifying rounds between 3 PM and 5 PM tomorrow. The Formula-G semi-final, to be held on July 27th, will start at 11:30 AM and will be conducted in two sessions. The Hydromobil semi-final will start at 3:30 PM and last until 5:45 PM. On July 28th, the 25 Hydromobil cars eliminated in the semi-finals will compete in the Hydromobil Anok Cup, a 1.5-hour race starting at 11:00 AM.

On the same day, the 12 Formula-G cars eliminated in the semi-finals will take to the track at 2 PM for the Formula-G Anok Cup, a race lasting 1.5 hours. The finals for both categories will be held on July 29th.
