Togg T10X - Stern Magazine Review

“According to a report in Stern magazine titled "Togg T10X AWD Long-Range Electric Car Coming to Germany," Türkiye's electric vehicle startup Togg is making an ambitious entry into the automotive market with its T10X AWD Long-Range model. Yuzde100yerli.com has compiled the key points from the Stern magazine article for you.

The article in Stern begins by stating that the Togg T10X has become a symbol of prestige in Türkiye. The magazine highlights the electric crossover's impressive features, including a digital ecosystem where AI even creates radio playlists, and its excellent charging performance. We have summarized the key points from the Stern article for you in bullet points.

Innovative Design

The Togg T10X boasts a massive 29-inch XXXL screen, offering users Byton's "Coast to Coast" vision. However, unlike many Chinese startup vehicles, the Togg variant doesn't obstruct the field of view. Furthermore, Togg has its own operating system and app store, avoiding reliance on Apple and Google. Apps can be dragged and dropped onto the home screen, and the phone can be wirelessly charged in a charging case.

Digital Ecosystem

Togg describes the passenger compartment as a second living room, offering various functions within a single system, such as listening to the radio, conducting business, and purchasing airline tickets. Furthermore, transactions can be made using Togg's own currency, Toggen. Just like on an airline, you accumulate miles or other points for transactions and activities, which you can convert to Toggen, for example, to recharge your batteries at a charging station. Thanks to artificial intelligence, the AI radio creates playlists based on the user's chosen music genre. The screens are also used to create digital works of art.

Performance and Comfort

The Togg T10X, with 700 Nm of torque and all-wheel drive, ranks among the best in its class. Offering a comfortable driving experience, the vehicle also boasts agile and fast performance. The 4.60-meter-long Togg 10X is said to have a turning radius of 9.50 meters even without rear-axle steering. Weighing 2,165 kilograms, the vehicle can be moved with this agility. Thanks to electric power, the TX10 can also make impressive progress if desired. The electric car completes a standard sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and at a top speed of 185 km/h, but the track is already over. Togg states the average fuel consumption as 19.7 kWh/100.

You select the three driving modes – Eco, Comfort, and Sport – using the left of the two buttons on the rising center console. It might be a little cumbersome at first, but you get used to it after a while. The right button controls the intensity of the three-stage acceleration, plus the acceleration itself. If you choose the most powerful setting, you can move the electric SUV using the popular One-Pedal-Drive. The suspension is comfortably tuned. We also tested the basic version with rear-wheel drive, boasting 160 kW / 218 HP and 350 Nm of torque, achieving standard acceleration in 7.8 seconds, and found this motor adequate. With the large battery, a range of up to 523 km is achieved, while with the smaller battery version, this distance drops to 314 km.

Charging Infrastructure

Togg has an advantage over its competitors with its AC and DC charging options. Supported by 1,000 fast charging stations in Türkiye, Togg will also have a similar charging infrastructure in Germany. Togg easily keeps pace with rivals like the Skoda Enyaq or VW ID.4. In some cases, it's even better: 22 kW on an AC power source is not offered by all competitors. At an 11 kW charging point, the batteries can be charged from 80% to 100% in 20 minutes. If you check a DC fast charging station, the Stromer 10X reaches a maximum of 180 kW. Then it only takes 28 minutes.

The article in Stern magazine concludes by mentioning that the German launch of Togg is imminent. The magazine states that a maximum of 2,000 to 3,000 cars are planned to be sold in Germany, and this number is expected to increase significantly by 2025. It also notes that with 1.5 million Turkish passport holders, national pride will certainly be in demand between Flensburg and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The article mentions that prices for Germany have not yet been determined, but in Türkiye, prices are likely to start at around €40,000, with the top version potentially costing over €65,000.
