Teknofest is known as a festival celebrating technology and innovation across Türkiye, and this year, the Level-4 Karsan Autonomous e-ATAK, a world first, was showcased at the event held in the Informatics Valley.

Karsan Autonomous e-ATAK: The Transportation of the Future
Karsan has long been known for its work on sustainability and innovative solutions. The autonomous e-ATAK stands out as a concrete example of this vision. This bus, which holds the title of the first driverless public transport vehicle in Europe to pass through a tunnel, successfully navigated an 800-meter-long tunnel in Stavanger, Norway, extending its route. This achievement demonstrates Karsan's advanced mapping technology and Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities.
Karsan is making a name for itself not only in Türkiye but also in Europe. An agreement with the Rotterdam Municipality in the Netherlands marked a milestone with the sale of two 8-meter autonomous e-ATAK vehicles. Furthermore, it has begun service in Finland as the first driverless electric bus. These developments demonstrate the reliability of Karsan's autonomous driving technologies and its contribution to future transportation solutions.
Teknofest and IT Valley
Teknofest is more than just an aviation, space, and technology festival; it's a platform where young people and innovative minds come together. Held in the Informatics Valley, this exhibition attracted attention not only with the Karsan Autonomous e-ATAK, but also with robotaxi and autonomous passenger vehicle competitions. This year's event brought together 38 teams and 598 competitors developing the driverless vehicles of the future. This once again showcased the interest and talent of Türkiye's youth in technology.
Features of the Autonomous e-ATAK
The autonomous e-ATAK stands out not only for being fully electric, but also for its Level 4 autonomous driving technology. This technology offers the ability to travel safely on defined routes without human intervention. Furthermore, the vehicle, capable of reaching speeds of 50 km/h in all weather conditions, day or night, performs all the operations of a bus driver without a driver. These features reinforce Karsan's leadership in sustainability and technological innovation.
