Turkish automotive brand Karsan has introduced its electric minivan model e-JEST in Japan, following its launches in Europe and North America.
Karsan introduced its first ever right-hand drive vehicle, the e-JEST model, at a ceremony held at the Turkish Embassy in Japan. Karsan has begun operations in this market in collaboration with its distributor, Altech.
Karsan CEO Okan Baş stated that Japan is known as an automotive nation and that they are very proud to be present in this market as a Turkish brand. Baş said, “In addition to our successes in Europe and our rapidly expanding vehicle fleet in the North American market, we are now adding the Japanese market. With our vision of being 'One Step Ahead in the Future of Mobility,' we are transforming public transportation worldwide. We expect to close this year having reached 1,000 electric vehicles in 22 countries. With this launch, Karsan has become Japan's first electric European brand. Furthermore, we now serve a very wide geographical area, from Canada to Japan. We aim to reach 100 sales in the Japanese market next year.‘.

What are the features of the right-hand drive Karsan e-JEST?
The Karsan e-JEST is a 6-meter electric city van with BMW's electric infrastructure. With a passenger capacity of 22 people, a range of 210 kilometers, a 135 kW electric motor, and an 88 kWh battery capacity, the vehicle can be charged in 1 hour with fast charging and in 4 hours with overnight home charging. Furthermore, thanks to its regenerative braking system that provides energy recovery, the batteries can self-charge by 25%. Standing out with its high maneuverability, spacious interior, dynamic design, and unique climbing performance that surpasses its competitors, the Karsan e-JEST illuminates the future with its quiet journeys. Equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen for vehicle control systems, a fully digital instrument panel, USB outputs, and Wi-Fi compatibility on demand, the right-hand drive version of the Karsan e-JEST offers passenger car comfort with its independent suspension system on all four wheels. Offering a combination of active and passive safety driving features, from ESP to Hillholder, the e-JEST is now electrifying Japan, following its success in Europe and North America.
