The AVCI Helmet Integrated Control System is a visor-projecting system developed to enhance helicopter pilots' situational awareness and mission effectiveness through its night vision, video, symbology display, and precise head tracking features.
With the AVCI Helmet System, platform flight information, weapon symbology, target detection system (FLIR), and night vision images are displayed to the pilot on a near-eye visor integrated into the flight helmet.
The AVCI System primarily consists of Head Unit, Electronic Unit, and Head Tracking System sub-units. Developed entirely domestically and originally by ASELSAN, it features an "Open Architecture" structure and is compliant with military environmental conditions. The high-precision Hybrid Head Tracking System, developed within the scope of the AVCI Helmet Project, is the world's first hybrid (optic-inertial) head tracking system integrated into a helicopter platform. With the Hybrid Head Tracking System, the pilot's head movements are detected, and the target detection system and all weapon systems on the helicopter are instantly directed towards the pilot's line of sight.
