The LEVENT Close-in Air Defense System, developed by Roketsan, has successfully completed a test firing from the TCG Beykoz corvette, marking a significant milestone. This development is critically important for strengthening Türkiye's naval defense capabilities and enhancing its strategic deterrence in the Blue Homeland.
LEVENT is designed to provide effective protection against the multifaceted threats faced by naval platforms in today's warfare conditions. The system stands out for its usability against elements such as aircraft, helicopters, UAVs/UASs, and anti-ship missiles. This feature enables the safe execution of naval operations, supporting our country's economic and strategic interests at sea.
This test firing from the TCG Beykoz corvette successfully demonstrated LEVENT's performance in sea conditions and its integration with the ship's systems. Combined with data from Roketsan's previous tests, this latest test firing confirms the system's success in meeting operational requirements.
Technical Specifications of the LEVENT Air Defense System:
LEVENT is a product of Roketsan's technological expertise gained from air defense systems such as Sungur and Hisar. Thanks to advanced sensor technologies, the system has the capacity to detect targets from long distances and destroy them with high precision. Its effectiveness against targets with low radar cross-sections demonstrates the system's superiority in modern warfare conditions.
Roketsan believes that with the addition of LEVENT to the Turkish Navy's inventory, the effectiveness of naval platforms in the field of air defense will significantly increase. This project is a strategic step towards strengthening Turkey's independence in the defense sector, in line with Türkiye's vision of domestic and national production in the defense industry.
