With the contract signed between SSB and Roketsan regarding the Micro Satellite Launch System (MUFS) Development Project, Turkey will acquire the satellite launching, testing, production infrastructure and base establishment capability that only a few countries in the world possess.
The project involves the development and testing of a Micro Satellite Launch System capable of placing microsatellites weighing 100 kilograms or less into Low Earth Orbit at an altitude of at least 400 kilometers. Under the signed contract, Roketsan will develop the Micro Satellite Launch Vehicle and establish the test/production facilities and launch base. This will enable Turkey to acquire the satellite launch, testing, production infrastructure, and launch base establishment capabilities possessed by only a few countries in the world.
