
‘The Obstacle Behind Detection System, based on "Ultra Wideband Radar Technology," is designed for use in public safety operations and private security applications.
The Obstacle Detection System allows for detailed visualization of objects behind walls, determining whether the object is animate or inanimate, identifying its material (metal, wood, glass, etc.), estimating its dimensions, and pinpointing its location with centimeter precision.
Another advantage of Ultra Wideband Radar Technology is that the signals used are undetectable and cannot be disrupted, thus providing high confidentiality and reliability. The system's advanced technological capabilities include target scanning by sending 48 million very short pulses per second (200 picoseconds), a specially designed processor capable of processing 40 billion samples per second, and advanced signal and image processing algorithms. The Obstacle Detection System, which can be used in hostage rescue and special-purpose operations, can also be integrated with various vehicles or systems for weapon, equipment, and ammunition detection, and for search and rescue operations under snow or rubble. The progress achieved during the project, which received consultancy from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and Boğaziçi University, was shared with the scientific community by Netaş at national and international conferences.
