Digital tachograph devices, which are currently produced by only four countries worldwide, will also be manufactured in Türkiye thanks to a cooperation agreement signed between ASELSAN, TOBB UND Logistics Investment Inc. (a subsidiary of TOBB), and TÜRKTRUST.
Digital tachographs produced by ASELSAN will also help keep 1 billion euros of Türkiye's money within the country.
The Turkish digital tachograph is planned to include features beyond the standard tachograph specifications in accordance with EU norms, such as real-time location information queries via GPS module, an audible warning module, and driver behavior monitoring. The tachograph will be designed to provide the highest level of ease of use for drivers, and will also offer remote data retrieval capabilities for regulatory authorities. For companies that are required to store real-time driver data, the remote data download feature of the tachograph will eliminate the need for costly data download solutions.
