The results of the 2014-2015 'International Design Awards' competition, held in Los Angeles, USA, have been announced. Dr. Hakan Gürsu, a faculty member at METU (Middle East Technical University), and the Designnobis team won seven awards at this year's event, known as the "Design Oscars.".
The team, which has been honored in various international competitions with the products it developed at the industrial design and innovation center located in METU Technopark, rose to the top 5 in the "Award-Winning Companies" ranking as a result of its performance this year.
Among the award-winning designs, the "Solar Taxi" electric vehicle stands out, powered by clean energy from solar panels and aimed at tourist use in city centers. Winning two awards in the transportation category, the design is described as a future transportation vehicle powered by alternative energy.
