Petlas, Türkiye's leading tire manufacturer, showcased its high-tech, domestically produced tires, specially developed for the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) KAAN, at SAHA EXPO 2022.
Petlas, which has made a significant contribution to localization efforts in the defense industry, continues to take important steps towards reducing the country's dependence on foreign sources.
Petlas emphasizes that it develops these high-tech tires entirely through its own R&D efforts, knowledge, and expertise, producing them without resorting to any foreign knowledge transfer. Petlas develops tires for TUSAŞ's National Combat Aircraft MMU (KAAN) and Hürkuş, Bayraktar's Akıncı and TB2 UAVs, as well as BMC's Tulga and FNSS's PARS 4×4 STA and ÖMTTZA 6×6, 8×8 armored vehicle tires, using high technology and engineering.
Petlas is Europe's largest tire factory with the widest product range under one roof.
As a result of recent investments, Petlas has reached a covered area of 365,000 square meters and a workforce of 4,000 employees, becoming one of the world's largest tire factories under a single roof with its wide product range. Another significant achievement of Petlas, and one of vital importance for Turkish industry, is having a genuine R&D center.
Petlas, operating with the vision of eliminating Türkiye's dependence on foreign sources, serves the Turkish agricultural, industrial, defense, and transportation sectors with over 2,500 different products under 4 different brands, including aircraft, military, agricultural, construction machinery, truck, bus, light commercial, and passenger car tires.
Besides producing the tires for Türkiye's National Combat Aircraft KAAN, Petlas has also achieved several firsts and successes.
