Turkish company YDS has won the world's largest boot tender. The company will produce 300,000 pairs of boots for the British army over a period of four years.
Yakupoğlu Tekstil ve Deri Sanayi A.Ş (YDS) won the world's largest military boot procurement tender by turnover, launched by the British Ministry of Defence.
YDS, which emerged as the frontrunner among 47 firms in the $80 million tender, will become the official supplier to the British Army, producing approximately 300,000 pairs of boots for the British Army over the next four years.
YDS Chairman Vedat Yakupoğlu said, “Currently, we control 10% of the European boat market. We aim to control one-third of it within 5 years.’.
